Autoreloader
Autoreloader (Magazine with Per-Shell Reload)
Hybrid magazine system that refills individual shells without dumping the full clip, blending burst damage with sustained DPM.
What it means
Introduced with the Italian heavies in 2018, the autoreloader is a magazine that doesn't require a full empty before reloading — instead, each shell refills independently after a per-shell reload timer. You can fire 1 shell, wait a few seconds, and fire again with the magazine partially loaded. The first shell reloads slowest, then progressively faster for the second, third, and final shells.
Typical values
Reload time per shell is non-linear — typically: shell 1 = full long reload (~25s), shell 2 = ~18s, shell 3 = ~12s, shell 4 = ~8s. Total clip refill takes longer than a conventional autoloader but offers flexibility mid-engagement.
Example
Why it matters
Autoreloader tanks are tactically flexible — they sustain DPM in extended engagements like single-shot tanks, but retain the burst-damage option of conventional autoloaders. This makes Italian heavies and TDs some of the highest-skill-ceiling vehicles in the game, rewarding awareness of which shell is currently loading.
