Tech tree

Technology (Research) Tree

In one sentence:

The research lines each nation uses to unlock tanks tier by tier with XP and credits.

What it means

The tech tree is each nation's progression map: you research modules and next-tier vehicles with XP earned in battle, then buy them with credits. Lines are themed — a branch of turreted tank destroyers, a line of autoloading lights — so choosing a line means choosing a playstyle for dozens of battles.

Example

The German heavy line through the Tiger I leads toward the Maus; a player who wants the E 100 instead branches at the Tiger (P). Checking the destination tank before grinding saves hundreds of battles.

Why it matters

Grinding a line you enjoy is the difference between progression and burnout. The tier 10 at the end defines the whole line's character.

Common pitfall

⚠ Skipping module research to rush the next tank — a stock tank with its worst gun and engine is consistently miserable to play.
